Do I have to attend Canyon View Vineyard Church to participate in monthly adoption and foster care support meetings?

No. But we welcome you to attend CVVC. While the majority of our families that come to the monthly meetings do attend CVVC, you'll find that you'll be at home among the group.

Who are the attendees at your meetings?

The monthly support meetings consist of the families you've most likely read about on the site. In addition, we always have new families that are interested in finding out more about adoption and foster care. In most cases, new families are linked with families with similar interests at the first meeting they attend, so they can ask questions freely and feel at home among the group.

What can I expect at your meetings?

We usually begin with a potluck meal and fellowship among members that's very casual, as the children eat with us until it's time to begin the meeting. Once we begin, we often have a topic of interest to group members or a speaker who provides education in an area related to adoption and foster care. The meetings typically last from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Are children included in the meetings?

We eat as a family until 7 p.m. typically. The children from birth to age 6 years old then go to the church nursery with two babysitters. A young adult will supervise children ages 7 and up in playing games and completing crafts from 7 to 8 p.m.

Families are asked to make a small donation to offset childcare costs.

Do I have to register for the meeting?

No. We are happy to have you join us at any time. Meeting information will be updated on the web site, so that you can plan accordingly.

What if I still have questions after I leave the meeting?

We can link you with another family that has agreed to mentor individuals based on their adoption and/or foster care experience and your area of interest. Families who have mentored couples in the ministry this past year have been blessed to witness and participate in the homecoming of several children in the past few months.
